Pit Bottom Crane Installation

Project Role:

Teleo Engineering was required for the project development phase of the project to specify the crane, prepare and manage the tender documentation and process, and complete the capital application.

During the project management of the crane installation, Teleo Engineering managed the build and offsite testing of the crane, the functional safety upgrade to AS____, and the factory acceptance testing. Teleo Engineering was also responsible for preparing the installation procedures and initiating due technical surveys.

During the installation of the crane, Teleo Engineering managed the commissioning of the crane including the full site introduction, the transportation into the underground environment on a train, the installation, and the training of personnel.

Teleo Engineering had successfully project managed and commissioned the installation of a 20 tonne capacity, dual 10 tonne hoists, underground crane that meet client specifications and eliminated manual handling risks associated with the movement of materials at pit bottom.

Appin, New South Wales, Australia

To provide full time project development and management to install a crane underground, that would be the first project that adhered to the functional safety requirements of West Cliff Colliery. This project required Teleo Engineering to manage the project from specification, to option generation and evaluation, to execution, and commissioning of the crane.
